Ahhh, SPRINGTIME!

The season where Mother Nature adorns herself with a fresh gown of vibrant blooms and luscious green. While the world bursts into color and birds rehearse their springtime symphonies, some of us are left preparing for battle against the invisible, pesky particles that dare to disrupt our enjoyment of this magical season. If you're one of the brave souls navigating the "pollen parade," read on for some simple, nature-inspired tips to help you sail through spring with ease.

Springtime Simplified: Tips to Tackle Sensitivities

  • Kickstart your day with foods rich in essential nutrients such as Vitamin C and antioxidants. Incorporating a colorful array of fruits and vegetables like citrus fruits, kale, and bell peppers into your meals can give your body that extra armor it needs to fend off those unwanted spring visitors. Not only are these foods delicious, but they also serve as your body's natural shield against seasonal woes.
  • Water is your best friend! Staying hydrated helps your body flush out any intruders more effectively. Add a zing to your daily water intake by infusing it with slices of lemon or cucumber for an invigorating twist that screams "springtime fresh."
  • Turn your home into a sanctuary by adopting a few easy habits. Keep windows closed on high pollen days and put on your DIY hat by crafting a chic dust cover for frequently used surfaces with an old, stylish fabric. Regular vacuuming with a cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter can also help maintain a space where you can breathe easily and relax deeply.
  • Embrace the great outdoors by engaging in low-intensity activities such as walking or yoga in local parks. Just remember to pick times when pollen counts are lower, like midday or late afternoon. Pair this with mindfulness exercises to keep your stress levels in check – a win-win for both body and mind!
When Sensitivity Strikes
For those moments when sensitivity strikes unexpectedly, consider natural relief before reaching for OTC products. A warm compress with a drop of Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint, on the face can provide instant comfort. These are my go-to essential oils for use during this time of year.
  • Lemon - A wonderful natural mucolytic, making it a great choice for respiratory support! Cleansing and purifying, this citrus oil also supports the immune system, so you get added benefits when using it for respiratory needs.
  • Lavender - This calming essential oil soothes and comforts the respiratory system when the pollen starts flying, and it also helps soothe and comfort the skin when it is feeling angry and irritated! Dilute with a little coconut oil or rose ointment and apply liberally and frequently.
  • Peppermint - This bright, crisp oil is a literal breath of fresh air. Pair it with Lemon and Peppermint for our seasonal LLP blend when the pollen starts flying or something starts blooming and you need some TLC with LLP!

Meet Sue Filling

This may not be the best picture of me and my husband, Mike, but it sure shows our true spirit of love, laughter and "informality". Welcome!

I'm a wife, mother, grandma, and friend who made it this far by the Grace of God! I love Jesus, my family and friends, horses, podcasts and healthy living.

I used to struggle with seasonal headaches. They hit me hard every year. I'd pop over-the-counter products every night just to wake up without the pain.

That’s when I discovered lemon, lavender, and peppermint—and everything changed. That simple swap made a noticeable difference in my life. From there, I was inspired to seek out natural alternatives for nearly everything I used.

Now, I help people who are looking for their own natural options. I guide them toward a healthier, more toxin-free lifestyle—one step at a time.

If that’s you, get in touch—I’d love to help.
